News from Room 14
What a busy few weeks in Room 14- we were nearly too busy to post what we've been up to!
In Maths we've had so much fun with hands on activities for length, money and now time. We made maps of towns with wide and narrow roads, tall and small houses etc. We played money snakes and ladders and shopping games and today we timed ourselves making towers! We were super speedy!
In Gaeilge we've been learning lots of songs and poems and all about Eadaí and sa Bhaile.
In English we were learning about "igh" and what sound it makes. We used the iPads to play some fun games and played a really fun game called "Vobackularly" where we had to guess words on each other's backs.
We loved learning about St Brigid and St Valentine and celebrating their days with lovely art.
Our SESE lessons have centered a lot around Spain and the customs, traditions and artists. We produced wonderful projects and artwork inspired by this research. We used encyclopedias, fact files and QR codes to conduct our research.
We also had lots of fun experimenting with magnets in Science.
In Geography we covered about natural features in the Irish landscape too.
In PE we've started soccer and gymnastics. We recorded some gymnastics sequences and reviewed them in our groups to see what we did well and could improve on.
We have loved our Wednesday Soccer and yard games. And look forward to some sunny weather to enjoy playing outside!
We hope you enjoy looking at our work.
